Soul Reflections

“Once you become aware of what stands in your way,

and become willing to release it, you signal the Universe that you are ready to manifest the life you were meant to live.”

– Chérie Carter-Scott

It took a simple moment in time - brisk and fleeting…however, long enough  for me to grasp what had occurred.

I evidently had stopped ‘walking my talk’.   A small crisis within myself forced me to look underneath the surface – ‘you will not come undone’,  I whispered to myself…and, in the process,  I re-discovered the fullness of my inner resources.   During this undertaking, I found a guarded reserve of encouragement and guidance at my very core.

So my brief, yet powerful predicament became, indeed, a blessing in disguise – and for several days which followed, I explored my values, beliefs and ideals.

What exactly placed me at the effect of circumstances?

Causing me to re-act instead of pro-act?

Well…

·       Focusing on what’s wrong with this picture?’ – instead of  wow…look at all that is right!’

·        Allowing limiting views and expectations to get the best of me…

·        Aiming my attention at random opinions…and

·        Forgetting that I am responsible for creating my landscape and choosing my perspective.

A bit of soul-searching offers a discerning inquiry into one’s motives, convictions and attitudes; and it can bring us back to where it all makes sense…where we begin to breeze through life rather than swiftly attempting to control it.

Being happy and spontaneous is our natural and authentic state.    Anything less is just a pattern we have acquired along the way.    So, when insecurity takes over, it is due to our dependency on worry, fear, and doubt… just an impression of who we are.

A quote by William Jennings Bryan, about choice and change, speaks loudly to me - and it reads:

Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.”

I relate to these beautiful words, and firmly believe that our course of events rests in our hands - and that we are responsible for actualizing our own peace of mind and wellbeing.

As I went within into soul reflection, the following remark came to mind:

“The key to creating the life we want is our willingness to accept responsibility”

Take responsibility for your thoughts:

because they become actions…

Take responsibility for your actions:

because they become habits…

Take responsibility for your habits:

because they become your personality…

Take responsibility for your personality:

because it will become your destiny…

Life is choice!

Yes…for an unexpected and very short time, I misplaced my rhythm - and no other groove can ever fulfill one who has already experienced living in the flow of life.   I have re-entered and re-captured my center and balance…a re-awakening of sorts - a sojourn of the spirit.   There is a renewed sense of essence and entity - my path and purpose clearly asserted and defined.

It is all part of the journey - travels which foster wisdom and vision.

Rainer Maria Rilke said:

“You see, I want a lot.   Perhaps I want everything ~ the darkness that comes with every infinite fall, and the shivering blaze of every step up.”
