Paying it Forward…
“The gift of a great teacher is creating an awareness of greatness in others.”
The Tao of Teaching
This summer I returned to a starting point – one which began on September 7th, 2008. I have come full circle, and that cycle has now been completed…
Little did I know then how much my life would change in the next twelve months. Well… I’m still the same ‘old Ellie’, but am I?
On Sunday, September 7th, 2008, I made a frantic call to a Nutritional Consultant I found while searching online. That particular day my health was at the worst it has ever been; and as I stated to Jim Jordan, I was “hanging on to a very thin thread…” I honestly did not think I was going to make it.
I believe in Divine Guidance, and I know that I was directed to find him – You see, he really understood my symptoms. He had been there himself and knew exactly what it was like. He assured me he would help me – and he did! One year later, following the diet and supplements regimen he put together for me, I am well…and much better than before this ailment. I went from drowning in fear, despair and sadness; to joy, fulfillment and immense gratitude. I can never thank him enough for answering his business phone on that Sunday afternoon – and for caring.
This September, my husband and I traveled to Ashland, Oregon, where Jim has his practice. I wanted to meet him, personally acknowledge his efforts in my comeback, and give him a big hug. He has patiently instructed and led me to wellness. I placed my complete trust in him, and here I am…telling my story – a story of perseverance, belief and success!
Last week at his office he made a statement which deeply impacted me – he said: “once you learn…it is your responsibility to teach what you have learned…” And this journey for me has been an apprenticeship of sorts – I wasn’t just given pills to take, or a diet to follow…there was a specific program for me and my circumstances – I always knew what I was doing and why. Every step of the way, Jim educated me on how to reclaim my health and be at my very best. Not only have I healed, but along the way I have increased and developed the ability to help others renew and transform!
I am blessed – blessed with a beautiful life, a fabulous husband, loving daughters, amazing sons-in-law, precious grandchildren, good friends, inner peace, spiritual strength, vibrant health… and my heart is filled with gratefulness. It is my turn now to pay it forward!
So…I must impart what I know, what I have learned and what I have yet to discover. It is my mission. I want to guide and help others realize that there is a way out – indeed, there is gold at the end of the rainbow.
On this path I am on I would like to convey that we all have the capacity to heal – physically and emotionally. I want to make it known that, in order to mend, all we need to do is go inward – where the antidote resides – and listen. The answers are within us and some times we just need “a hand to hold on to as the bridge comes into view.” Ellie
The following steps were vital for my turning point – and through my research and training I know they are essential for integral healing – or soothing and nurturing the heart, mind, body and soul back to wholeness…
It is crucial that we:
- Stand in our truth – this means change may be necessary…
- Express compassion, inspiration and intensity for life…
- Love and forgive ourselves and others…
- Focus on abundance and life force…
- Show grace in our ability to shift negative perceptions…
- Release and surrender to the moment…
- Start each day anew…
- And say ‘Thank You!’…
So as I pass on the knowledge I’ve gained and welcomed from Jim and many other teachers and mentors, I invite you to join me in sharing your stories and lessons learned. Marianne Williamson said “…as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same…”
How will you pay it forward?
